How to Verify a Tech Certificate in Nigeria (2026 Guide for Employers and Graduates)

Short answer: To verify a tech certificate in Nigeria, find the issuer's own verification page, enter the certificate ID printed on the certificate, and check that the name, course and date match. For a Tech Faculty NG certificate, go to techfaculty.ng/verify. If the issuer has no verification page, contact the issuer directly using details from its official website.

Why verification matters

A tech certificate is only worth something if someone can check it. Employers, schools and clients increasingly ask for proof, and a certificate that cannot be checked is easy to fake. As a graduate, a verifiable certificate is the simplest way to stand out. As an employer, checking takes a minute and protects you from hiring on false claims.

How to verify any tech certificate: five steps

  1. Find the issuer. Read the name of the school or vendor exactly as printed on the certificate.
  2. Go to the issuer's official website yourself. Type the address or search for it. Do not rely on a link, QR code or phone number supplied only by the certificate holder, because a fake certificate can point to a fake page.
  3. Use the issuer's verification page. Enter the certificate ID or credential number printed on the certificate.
  4. Match every detail. The name, course or credential, certificate type and issue date on the record should match the paper or PDF exactly.
  5. If there is no verification page, contact the issuer. Use the email or phone number on the issuer's official website and ask them to confirm the certificate ID and holder.

How to verify a Tech Faculty NG certificate

Every Tech Faculty NG certificate can be checked on our public verification portal at techfaculty.ng/verify.

  1. Open techfaculty.ng/verify.
  2. Enter the certificate ID printed on the certificate, for example TFNG202601. Capital or small letters both work.
  3. Select Verify Certificate.

A genuine certificate shows the holder's full name, the course, the certificate type, the certificate ID, the issuer (Tech Faculty NG) and the date issued. If the ID is not in our database, the page says so. If you believe a real certificate is missing, or you suspect a fake, message us on WhatsApp with the ID and we will check.

International vendor certifications

Many tech certifications are issued by international vendors rather than Nigerian schools. Most issue a digital badge or credential record that you can check on the vendor's own site or on the badge platform the vendor names, such as Credly. The same rule applies: start from the vendor's official website, not from a link the candidate sends you, and check that the name and credential match.

Warning signs of a fake certificate

  • No certificate ID or credential number anywhere on it.
  • The issuer has no verification page and does not respond when contacted.
  • The ID returns no record, or a record for a different person or course.
  • The verification link goes to a domain that is not the issuer's.
  • Spelling mistakes in the school's name, the course name or the signatory's title.
  • The holder cannot describe the course or show any project from it.

For graduates: make your certificate easy to check

  • Put your certificate ID on your CV and LinkedIn profile, next to the course name.
  • Link straight to the issuer's verification page.
  • Pair the certificate with a portfolio. A verifiable certificate shows you finished; projects show what you can do.
